FEGGA Scholarship Programme in Partnership with Kristianstads GC

FEGGA in association with Kristianstads Golf Club in Sweden have put together what we believe is the perfect opportunity for a greenkeeper to gain practical experience along with a well-structured lecture programme that will have a long-term benefit to any Greenkeeper who is a Member of your Association.

Based in the idyllic and historic seaside village of Åhus, Kristianstads Golf Club is one of Sweden and Europe’s best golf complexes. Major investment has taken place since the course was bought out several years ago. A total renovation of its East Course was completed in 2017, a ‘state of the art’ new Maintenance facility was opened in 2019, and resort houses and sports centre opens 2020. Plans for the coming two years are to firstly host the Creekhouse Ladies Open, on the Ladies European Tour (September 2020), build a new Clubhouse facility, and to redesign or second course, the West Course.

A unique 6 months Work Experience Scholarship Programme
During the 6 months the students will have a structured programme of lectures which will relate to the work experience the students will undertake throughout the period. The type of experience gained in the education programme will be Golf Course Design delivered by Ryder Cup Golfer, Pierre Fulke; Irrigation Design and Specification along Machinery planning, purchasing and maintenance. Tournament preparation, presentation, planning and management will be available on the course. Kristianstads Golf Club will be host to the inaugural ‘Creekhouse Ladies Open’ in September 2020. All candidates will have first hand experience in both planning behind the scenes and the daily course set up.

The lecture programme will be endorsed by both FEGGA and Kristianstads Golf Club and each student will receive a Certificate of Excellence on completion of the programme. A sample of this lecture programme is set out below.
